"What have you done to yourself my child?" resonates a six feet four inches tall and sturdy man as he springs into my "ward".

The "child" in question, is nearly 46 years old with his hair visibly graying at the sides.

"I have been scrapping cells off my liver and drilling holes in my intestines during my leisure time." I laugh as I hug my new visitor.

Soon a five feet seven inches tall and elegant woman in her early seventies also enters my "ward."

Yes, my parents have arrived.

Holding me by my arms, both of them walk me to my bed as if I were their young pregnant daughter delivering for the first time...

A Blissful Week

Wednesday:

Early morning my wife was surprised to see me in a different "ward."

"What was wrong with the previous one and who helped you move?" She asked with her eyes already revealing her suspicions.

"I hate pink colors and I prefer quiet environment." I stated matter-of-factly. "And," I continued, "Kind sisters helped me move..."

I deliberately selected the term "sisters" instead of "nurses" to ease her suspicion.

As dreaded, her eyes soon wandered over to the new-companion (portable CD/Radio/Cassette).

"Was this suite already equipped with Hi-Fi?"

NORAD. She should be working for NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command).

I knew that one wrong answer and my planned series of fiesta would end before they started...

Tips For Marrying A Chinese Bride - III

On Sunday evening, Catherine and Bert visited me. Love is wonderful. Or at least the feeling of being in love is. And it is a cure or a booster to behavioral problems as well.

Bert no longer exhibits stupidity and his idiotic looks and expression(s) seem to have left him for good. On the other hand, the woman in Catherine has blossomed as well. She is ten times more attractive and graceful than she used to be.

Seeing a (almost) perfect couple in front of me, my thoughts wandered to events of past few weeks...

Boon

Holy Monkeys Jumping On Divine Branches!

Starting today, Rebecca the nurse, is on night-shift. Yessire... I ain't sleeping no more!

And... several nurses (including the joyous night-shift "ward sister-in-charge") want me to massage their scalp and wash their hair with beer. The word is spreading.

Must figure out a way to delay my operations and surgery from coming Friday to next week. Though I doubt.

Saturday was uneventful. Mainly because it was Rebecca's day off. Apart from that, the other difference was that; being weekend, every patient on "our" floor received many visitors.

"You have visitors everyday. We have visitors only during the weekend" said some fellow patients to me with a jealous attitude not dissimilar to bloggers who compare statistical hits of visitors to their site.

Thanks to the rule that does not allow children under 12 as visitors, except if they are sons or daughters of the patient and that too with special permission, despite the crowd, "our" floor was comparatively quiet.

I spent the day with my family, and we had a lot of fun.

Finally, dawn broke on Sunday morning and found me standing in front of the Big T with a huge statue of Jesus with his arms wide open. How someone who is nailed to a cross can extend their arms that wide was a puzzle to me. But probably my rational mind was just being scientific or logical...

Misunderstanding

A patient is lying in bed in the hospital with an oxygen mask over his mouth.

A young nurse appears to sponge his hands and feet.

"Nurse," the patient mumbles from behind the mask... "Are my testicles black?"

Embarrassed, the young nurse replies... "I don't know. I am only here to wash your hands and feet."

He struggles again and asks... "Nurse, are my testicles black?"

Finally, the nurse pulls back the covers and raises his gown. She holds his penis in one hand and his testicles in her other hand and takes a closer look.

"Nothing is wrong with your testicles..." she says.

Surprised, the man pulls off his oxygen mask and says, "That was very nice of you but... are my test results back?"

A Fresh Start

Terror-in-white, the day-shift "ward sister-in-charge" is startled to see me sitting on the couch of my "sitting room" as she gently enters at precisely 07:10 am. She escapes the water balloon falling over her head for the simple reason that I wasn't able to find one.

"Why are you dressed in a business suit? You are not allowed to go anywhere," she barks in a Hitler-esque tone.

"I don't belong to the sick-parade until I am operated upon and so I will dress as I please." I bark back at her as if she were a leper.

My thoughts wander to last night...

After my family and visitors left at night, Rebecca, the nurse, accompanied me for two hours in my "sitting room". She had finished her work for the day and was in no hurry to go anywhere.

Flipping through feminine magazines and pointing at the models therein, I tried my best to explain what men like and want in a woman. I gave her several suggestions, including changing her hair-style and changing to a darker lipstick.

I also pointed out that her uniform was a bit too loose and made her look fat!

Actually, at the back of my mind I wanted her to be in a sexier uniform instead of her knee long one piece dress. Recalling the golden advice that one should never directly express their wish to a woman, I tried the proved strategy of bringing out the insecurity in her.

"You may also want to sew up your skirt two inches shorter otherwise people get the impression you have fat legs..." I expressed mild distaste.

"Really?" her feminine insecurity jumped to its peak as depression shadowed her face.

"Would I make a monkey out of you?" I answered with a counter-question.

After she left, I imagined that back home, she would at least spend two or three hours implementing my suggestions and by (today) morning she would have implemented most of them. Either that, or I don't understand women.

Anyway, ignoring terror-in-white as she hurried around her morning routine, I sat on the couch eagerly awaiting Rebecca's return...

Sisters, Nurses, And Doctors...

Sometime near the end of 19th century, some vagabond sisters decided to help the poor of Hong Kong. They set up a tiny place which later on took a life of its own. Today it is a (group of) private hospital(s) in Hong Kong charging more than the most expensive five star hotel out here.

The place has developed, as they claim. In fact, so much that they have even welcomed the idea of Hello Kitty colors on the walls of what they term - Deluxe Suite.

Equipped with electric bed, "refrigerator" (odd term as no one uses it anymore, if you ask me), phone, color TV, and a private bathroom with shower (no bath tubs), the "suite" provides magnificent views of congested traffic, perturbed people, who walk around as if hurrying to be a part of die-hard democrats in a parade.

The cross hanging on a wall right at the foot of my bed reminds me that the end is near.

The sitting room, attached to the "ward" (or my private bedroom), resembles a set out of a Batman movie. With yellowish-orange couches, the design and the area of the "sitting" room clearly accommodates only two visitors as is their rule.

Terror In White:

A stern looking white clad figure enters my "ward" as soon as I settle.

"I am the ward sister-in-charge" says she.

With a face resembling Margaret Thatcher and attitude reminiscent of Lynndie England, I think she falters when she says "I will make your stay very comfortable over here."

I nod at her with my gaze transfixed on her hair that resembles a Black Widow spider crawling over her scalp.

Nurses:

Soon I am introduced to the nurses on "our" floor. Not bad. In fact, damn sexy. I ponder how many of them I will lay before I leave, if I leave.

"Rebecca will look after your needs, though other nurses will also check on you from time to time" announces the terror in white.

Rebecca is a slim, sexy, thick lipped lady and my first impression is that nothing but lust is oozing out her body. "Look after your needs, look after your needs..." reverberates in my mind as I am oblivious to what else terror in white is saying.

After they leave, more sisters arrive...

The Journey

The Big Night...

People pack for vacations, voyages, whatever... I am packing for hospital.

Excitement throughout the house! Starting from "which painting would Daddy like near his bed" from my young daughter to "are we still supposed to cook for him?" from my maids. In between, both my sons remind me of my promise to buy them the pre-determined gifts should they achieve their academic targets.

They show the enthusiasm of sending someone to a pilgrimage. While most of them have reluctantly given up on me, I reckon my wife is busy receiving quotations for coffin prices. How else can I justify her fretting around trying to hide from me?

Somewhere in the avenues of my mind, the mood isn't the same. I take extra care that I have at least 300 albums of beautiful models and girls downloaded on my personal notebook and ensure that three draft posts regarding Bert's last week's episode up until he announced last night that he had sex with Catherine, are also secured in the notebook as well.

The after-thought of downloading "Sexy Catholic Nurses" web site pictures, perhaps - food for thought or necessary instructions for prolonged foreplay; drives me to my computer, following which... I compose this post.

I also note that my wife has not packed condoms, as is her usual habit when I go to China. Should I myself be packing condoms then? The thought crosses my mind.

However, with at least 15 hours before I leave, there is ample time for last minute preparations. And... What if they don't let me out or don't let me buy at a later stage? Do nurses have AIDS? Too exhausted to brood over such philosophic issues at the moment.

Also remember that I have not answered several email and some questions raised in comments. Like "Dream Car" song and what it really means.

Rest assured I will reply and answer soon. After all, I have nothing else to do from tomorrow apart from watching nurses.

Finally, thanks to everyone who has repeatedly (especially during last two weeks) visited even though the quality and quantity of posts went down. Things will be better starting tomorrow. Or at least I hope.

It is probably too late to change or educate Catherine's mother. I keep referring her as "hag", because I found it very strange that she must accompany her 23 year old daughter to a singles party, that too hosted at my house and not in some ill-repute bar or what have you.

This very fact, endorses Gloria's observation that the hag treats her daughter as a commodity, and probably is also interfering in Catherine's personal freedom, which I disapprove.

Besides, it does appear she is overly materialistic. Not that I disagree that parents concerned about their daughter's welfare should think about financial security (of their daughter's future life), but stable financial security and greed are two different issues. In this aspect, I believe Catherine's mother is really greedy and perhaps expecting a lot for herself alongside the stability of her daughter.

Further to Brian's concerns of whether or not Bert is honest, all I can say is that it is difficult for me to answer that.

I have known Bert for only a couple of months, and while his behavior has been stupid, especially regarding girls, love, sex fantasies, etc., I believe he is sincere in finding a wife, albeit Asian or Chinese wife. So far, he has presented the truth about his job, his background, and his family.

But does he truly love Catherine? I believe that the only way to find out is to test him out. Which is what I plan to do...
