Hey Edison! Don't Stop That Music...

Hong Kong authorities and some people concerned are hoping that Edison Chen's Photo Scandal winds up for good. But that is not going to happen soon.

Maybe people in Hong Kong are beginning to lose interest in the story that seems to have seriously destroyed the careers of well known Hong Kong movie stars and singers such as Gillian Chung, Cecilia Cheung, Edison Chen himself, as well as several others, but the story is just picking up in other parts of Asia.

While loitering in Singapore's Changi Airport Terminal the other day and speaking to beautiful Chinese girls in Cantonese (yes, many people in Singapore do speak Cantonese) and Mandarin, many of them asked me (or rather begged me) for more details.

I obliged. "You see," I told them, "you can see Edison's love lollipop in full glory in the pictures if you Google them."

"Is it big?" they asked. See what I mean? This topic is a conversation starter. Soon I was surrounded by stewardesses in transit, store girls taking a break, and some other girls interested in the topic. One or two guys tried to join the conversation, but I frowned at them and they went back to their corner and started smoking.

Yes, we were in the smoking room, Terminal 2, Changi Airport. And yes, many Chinese girls in Singapore do smoke.

If you have not lived in Asia and when you read statements suggesting that Asians and particularly the Chinese are conservative, blah blah blah, take that with a grain of salt. Such statements are (usually) not meant to be positive. But rather, aimed at discriminating the Asians and particularly the Chinese as primitive or backward.

An example? I have heard about a Caucasian male who waves swords and performs Kung Fu stances in front of general public in a park, but gets pissed and laughs at Chinese people in Hong Kong when they decorate their houses during Christmas or celebrate Halloween.

Anyway, let us say that judging or comparing people aside, every place has its own culture and tradition. If you can't live with it, you better leave.

Back to the point. I had fun with the girls in Singapore at Changi. We discussed extremely graphic details about sex and people's (those who are involved) private parts without blinking an eyelid. Why? Because we were talking about other people. And especially people who are celebrities, and therefore, public figures. That is the culture and tradition out here, that I am talking about.

As allegedly reported by others, Paris Hilton might get away with such acts, I don't know. But then, Paris Hilton does not pose as a Government Ambassador in community hygiene advertisements. Problem is, some of those involved in Edison Photo Gate scandal tried to promote a squeaky-clean image.

One of the girls who heard rumors that all six girls in the photos/videos are going to sue Edison for damages, asked me, "Do you think it is fair that they ask for compensation for destroying their careers?"

I replied, "Do you think that they should be compensated if they were stupid enough to pose for him and perform fellatio and enjoy cunnilingus in front of a camera?"

Smiles all around.

Tell you what? Next time I go to Singapore (pretty soon), I will have more sex than I can handle. I am sure, because nine new phone numbers in my mobile phone's phone-book tells me so.

Cheers!

PS:

1) Those who are curious, can look for "thegutterpost" at blogspot. I am not going to provide a link.

2) Contrary to the belief that the new Terminal 3 in Changi Airport is for budget airlines, let me tell you that Singapore Airlines now (from January) flies from Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.

This means, if you are landing at Terminal 2 (say from parts of Africa, South Asia, South-east Asia, etc.) and if your flight is departing from Terminal 3 (say to Hong Kong, or USA, Europe, etc.), you better board the (ugly) Skyrail and go to Terminal 3 immediately. Or else, you might miss your flight or piss off the Captain and the rest of the crew.

3) However, I need to tell you that you will see more beautiful girls in the smoking room of Terminal 2, simply because that was the most prominent terminal before Terminal 3 came up. And also, because most lounges, the Market Place, 7-Eleven, etc., were there long before the ugly Terminal 3 came up.
